Notre Dame is scandalously inviting Barack Obama, the most pro-abortion federal office holder in the U.S., to give the May 17th commencement address to the Class of 2009 and their parents and friends, at the Joyce Center on the campus. Notre Dame is also awarding an honorary doctorate to a man who makes war upon the Catholic Church’s treasured teachings regarding the sanctity of human life.
On the weekend of May 15-17, 2009, we of ND Affirm Life ask that all friends of life -- be they Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, Muslim or not religiously affiliated -- come to South Bend, Indiana, to affirm the dignity of innocent human life and join in solidarity with the Notre Dame students protesting the Obama honors. Our demonstrations, rallies and prayerful protests will be student-facilitated, and student-led. We are Headquartered at the historic State Theatre, which has a capacity to hold 1,600 people, at 214 1/2 Michigan Street in downtown South Bend. ND Affirm Life support for all elements of the pro-life community is already available; our scheduled events and larger protests will begin Friday 3 PM May 15 and run continuously through Sunday 8 PM May 17. The State Theatre is one mile from the Notre Dame campus. We will update our DEMONSTRATIONS section of this website constantly, as we confirm new information and developments about specific events and demonstrations. Our commission is to serve in aid and co-ordination with all participating protest groups coming to Notre Dame, that we may faithfully and victoriously witness to the cause of innocent life.
Our efforts seek to persuade, exhort and to compel the University of Notre Dame to honor God and Our Lady of the Lake, by disinviting the morally wayward Barack Obama.
We also seek to preserve the integrity of the United State's foremost Roman Catholic university, from the Faustian bargain Fr. Jenkins and Fr. Hesburgh are striking with Caesar. We ask Notre Dame to render only to Caesar what is Caesar's, and most importantly, to render unto God what is God's, by preserving the sanctity of human life. Fr. Jenkins must resign as University President in an act of contrition for having brought this scandal, or be removed. Our ND Affirm Life efforts WILL continue after Commencement weekend, should Fr. Jenkins continue in office.
